Today I'm going to extensively do something I usually don't do: Name names.

Back in the day when I first re-entered the world of crypto, I did some solid research if I say so myself?? and some of the alts I decided to get involved with were RLC and GRS. There were more of course, but these two caught my attention because for a long time, they were head to head in price for about 0.30- to 0.50 cents and since I got 5000 coins of each, the total value I had was the same as well so I started watching them like I was watching a race: Who would eventually win?

After some development GRS gained value and seemed to leave RLC behind, as other times RLC's price exploded and left GRS behind. The latter is what happened eventually as Groestlcoin never broke ATHs again while iExec broke it's 2018 ATH in threefold last year. Even though RLC is nowhere near 9 Euros a coin now, GRS still has a lot of catching up to do before they once again equal them in price. Not that it would matter for me personally since I no longer have GRS in my portfolio. My RLC stack is down significantly as well from the initial 5000 tokens, since it was obvious the insane run last year would eventually come crashing down.

Why mention any of this now? I often check in on old cryptos that caught my attention years ago, most of the time I find I made the right choice, not because I'm some sort of genius but because I'm often mislabeled 'a maxi' for a reason. Unlike most actual Bitcoin-maxis I actively listen to what other projects have to say, since improvements and addendum use cases are IMO always possible and because I like to think that unlike in the highlander world, in the crypto world there be more than one.

So is the race over? What does GRS have to say nowadays and is it worth it to give it another shot? To be clear btw, these two are in no way similar in use case or tech, so what tech is GRS know for?

Ahh yes, the ever over-hyped Litecoin. Why is it some cryptos gain so much more attraction from the masses than others? Attraction which is often a hype that slowly but surely fades away over time? I admit my own interest in GRS faded away idem ditto, but that's more on me than the project itself. Elastos was another coin which lost my interest due to it's lack of progress. Something I recon many thought as well which explains it's price movement the past four years, but recently there have been some signs of life so is it time to beat the the whales ELA, or will I be the fool who (re)takes the bait? If I had to choose, I'd put my money on GRS over LTC all day long. But is it a wise choice to go for GRS over some of the other alts I'm eying? I know I'm not obligated to choose only one, but if I choose all of them I will either have much smaller bags or loose wayyy to much Bitcoin, which is something I've never done and never will. So if I had to choose right away I'd say yes and choose to give Groestlcoin another shot. But I'm not going to make that choice today, it's risky, but how I approach these things is wait for another crash where Bitcoin drops like 7% and alts about 20%. I can do these things now since it's scientifically proven the FOMO syndrome fades away after a few years.??
