Crypto... Philosophizing!

Do repost and rate:

If I had to give my own definition of what crypto actually is, I would say that:

Crypto is value encrypted into a blockchain of data.

Crypto and the related technology is the gold of our era. It is currently the most revolutionary invention of the millennium, even though that is not commonly realized (yet!). In this article, instead of trying to make referrals on some random website promising "to make you rich" or trying to make a prediction like "Bitcoin prize will reach 1 million USD during this summer" (like many articles do), I will try to write into words my own understanding of crypto (both for the present and the future) by answering some questions that all of us have asked ourselves.

Is crypto... the future?

Yes. Actually, to be more correct, it is the "basis" of building the future. What the blockchain technology has accomplished is that finance and information technology have become one by providing them a transparent, secure and decentralized environment to operate on. The question should not be if crypto is the future or not, but when will crypto become the mainstream way of exchanging assets or value. It's just a matter of time for "natural selection" and the "invisible hand of the economy" to pick the best way for this purpose amongst them all. And crypto is the king when it comes to that.

Can crypto make me rich in a night's time?

No. Not anymore. Crypto like Bitcoin or Ethereum seem not to lose all their value or double it in a night's time. But most of us do think that their current value does not correspond to the potentially maximum value these coins can reach, if become mainstream and adopted by everything that can implement them. And there is much work for all of us to do there. Instead of trying to create thousands of different crypto and related technologies, maybe we must do the obvious first. And that is trying to talk to people about them, make them known to the public. I guess less than 5% of the population really knows what Bitcoin actually is, and if it can really be trusted as a value store, or money, or asset, or whatever you use it for. (Yes, it can be trusted for all of the above.)

Why has not crypto become mainstream yet?

As I told before, we in the crypto-community (that little big thing) have not done much to "promote" crypto for public use, so that mass adoption comes next. But we have done really much to make the technology behind and around crypto a very advanced one. What we must do is that we shall all focus on the adoption part. If everyone does this we can "spread" the crypto-fever around more easily (LOL) and then see the prices go... a "little" higher. ;)
