Bitcoin surged to $50,000 on Feb. 12, achieving a market cap of $981.86 billion. In comparison to stocks of the world's most valuable companies and precious metals, Bitcoin has re-entered the top 10 assets by market capitalization.

Recent reports highlighted the resurgence of Bitcoin to $50,000, a level not seen since Dec. 2021. This surge is attributed to investor enthusiasm surrounding Bitcoin exchange-traded funds and the upcoming 'halvening.'

Should the positive momentum persist, Bitcoin may ascend the market capitalization ranks. Its previous peak resulted in a market cap of $1.28 trillion when each bitcoin was valued at $67,617.02.

At present, BTC holds the tenth position, trailing Meta (formerly known as Facebook) by approximately $235 billion, with a value of $1.214 trillion. Although overtaking Meta in a single move seems unlikely, the current 24-hour trend shows Meta up by 1.73%, while Bitcoin is up by 3.22%. If Bitcoin surpasses Meta, the next targets are silver ($1.28 trillion), Amazon, Nvidia, and Alphabet (all around $1.8 trillion). Beyond that lies the $2 trillion club, where Bitcoin would need to reach around $100,000 per coin to compete with Saudi Aramco, Microsoft, and Apple.

After conquering these milestones, the ultimate challenge for BTC is to surpass gold. With a total market capitalization of $13.65 trillion, gold symbolizes the Mount Everest of asset obstacles.

Meanwhile, Ethereum (ETH) has seen a 3.45% increase at the time of this article's publication, reaching a market cap of $313.54 billion and securing the 34th position. Ethereum has outperformed Nestle ($294.8 billion) and Toyota ($307.81 billion) among the top 100 cryptocurrencies. Analysts speculate on a scenario where Ethereum continues its upward trajectory alongside Bitcoin, positioning itself to challenge major tech companies like Tencent and Samsung, both valued at less than $400 billion.
