New product promises a 3GH/s hashrate

Bitmain, the world's largest bitcoin miner, announced on Saturday (24) its new version in ASIC, aimed exclusively at ethereum mining. Named Antminer E9, in video, the company claims that the new device provides a hash rate of up to 3 GH / s and that its power is equivalent to “32 3080 video cards”, which refers the customer to the RTX 3080 card, a product of Nvidia's GeForce line.

The presentation of the Antminer E9 lasts a few seconds and describes only a few specifications of the new product - 3 GH / s; consumption of 2556 watts; and an efficiency of 0.85 J / M (joules per meter). “What can take the industry to the next level?”, Says an excerpt from the advertisement, which adds: “Antminer E9 Ethereum Miner will be officially launched soon”.

The same advertisement had already been made on Twitter last week, but with only one image and without the specifications. Now it seems to be a matter of little time for the product to be available on the company's platform. E9 is a continuation of the E3 line, launched in 2018.

On the other hand, Nvidia has sought to address the shortage of video cards by making them less desirable for miners. In February of this year, the company announced Nvidia CMP, a new GPU aimed specifically at ethereum mining.

The company is also reducing the computing power of its RTX 3060 graphics drivers, making them less efficient for mining.
