What Drives Growth in Crypto?

I just wanted to share a brief thought with everyone. While the following statement can be applied to just about any industry, it is especially prevalent in the crypto space.

So what is the point of this post? Well, I'd like to propose a question and propose my opinion of the answer. I'd also like to encourage everyone else to provide their feedback in the comments section below or on any social channels this post might be shared on.

Proposed Question:What drives the most growth in the cryptocurrency space? By "cryptocurrency space," I mean all-encompassing crypto. NFTs, DAOs, DEXs, Altcoins, Meme coins, LP-tokens/platforms, swap platforms, etc. It can be the growth of a token's price, community, liquidity, team size, whatever.

There are three primary responses from my coworkers when I ask this question: Experience, Knowledge, and Structure/Support.

I agree with all three of these items. Knowledge can be gained from training and from reading/learning but that knowledge doesn't become experience until it is actually applied. Often times that application is not perfect immediately so it takes time. Onboarding and management structure along with long term support structure for new employees or new projects are also vital. Although, I would argue that these responses are not the primary drivers of growth. (This is also a great interview question that I always ask people I interview for my sales team).

Proposed Answer:In my opinion, what drives the most growth is . As I walk applicants through the interview process and afterward as a culture-building statement, I always refer back to passion as the biggest driving force for growth. I believe you can teach someone best practices, you can teach strategy, and how to be effective, but passion is something different entirely. Passion is not really something that can be taught in my opinion.

Sometimes passion can be inspired by another person or by certain events but overall, especially when it comes to the work/professional environment, passion is not something that can be instilled in teammates through basic training or an onboarding process. If someone is passionate about what they are doing, or trying to do, they will be much easier to train and they will be more engaged. A higher level of engagement can oftentimes lead to a higher chance of success. It's that simple.

I also believe one of the main reasons that cryptocurrency, blockchain/DLTs, NFTs, etc. have been so successful is simply the passion behind the teams building these new products, services, and platforms. All across the crypto-space, you will find hundreds of thousands if not millions of people working for "sweat equity" or essentially for free in the hopes that they can help build a successful project. People in crypto are working because they are passionate about what they are doing (for the most part, there are always bad actors) and it shows in their projects and the growth in the overall space.

Visit any major office or state institution in the U.S. and you will see large workforces of people getting paid A LOT of money every year but they hate what they do and it shows in the stagnation of their work efforts and ultimately the growth of their businesses. It is the exact opposite for a lot of people working on a crypto project. We are surrounded by passionate people working to bootstrap great ideas.

Crypto and the crypto community are so refreshing. We will keep building to help bridge the gap between traditional and nontraditional markets.

If you read this far, thank you and I would appreciate it if you ignore my writing issues. I went to business school so grammar was never my strong suit haha
