The much-awaited Chinese Tencent Blockchain Accelerator has begun and plans to mentor 30 local DLT firms. The Chinese tech giant is a major player in the blockchain industry and is also the biggest video game brand in the world.
Tencent Blockchain Accelerator program will feature 30 companies operating in the distributed LEDGER technology realm. As per the official press release, the mentoring program will feature firms operating in the supply chain, finance, education, logistics, and many more DLT-specific areas. Tencent has filed a record 718 patent in 2019 related to blockchain.

Chinese push for blockchain integration in all the areas of the society has promoted many local accelerator programs. In a bid to help find and nurture the Chinese DLT talent, the Tencent Blockchain Accelerator promotes independent firms. Officially, the company calls if Tencent Industrial Accelerator and blockchain forms a crucial part of the entire program.
Both startups and established companies can apply for the program. Additionally, companies willing to implement blockchain technology into their processes are also welcome to join the program. Tencent says that the program provides an excellent linking opportunity for the participating firms. The multi-dimensional event brings together technology, business, and entrepreneurship on one stage. Companies can attract capital through strategic planning.
Participants can explore a whole new blockchain perspective
Tencent has specified that only those companies who have already secured a minimum of one funding round can participate in the event. Additionally, the participant must carry a referral letter from a well-established industry leader. Though stringent, there are many companies that will still qualify these requirements for Tencent Blockchain Accelerator.
Applicants can apply till 6 June 2020 with a registration fee of $14,120. Qualifying candidates will gain access to exclusive features like extensive mentoring sessions, and guidance from industry leaders.
