Greetings  Mages! It's time to try brand new dynamic strategies, fueled by rage and sparks of rebellion. Let's enjoy Going the Distance, theruleset where only the units with ranged attacks may be used.

The time of snipers, sharpshooters has come! Maybe we will throw the Henchling Enforcers into the mix? The Gargoya Devil was calling... and the army of death did anser his call!

The main advice is to add units with Close Range and Return Fire abilities in the team. The units with Close Range will be able to attack from the first position, and those with Return Fire will give back damage when hit by ranged attacks. I will definitely use one of my favorite kamikaze card... the Venari Marksrat!

The Gargoya Devil summoned the most scary archers in the shadowlands! Going The Distance is one of the simple rules, as only the ranged monsters are available. The difference is made on how units that boost or curse are integrated into the battle dynamics.

If only rangers can be used, then Contessa L'Ament or General Sloan are the ones that have a clear advantage. Contessa L'Ament was my choise, as witch will make a bigger difference on the battlefieldr

We are going the distance by reducing the ranged damage of all enemies, and with the help of the Gargoya Devil. He will stand proud in the first line, boosted by Martyr once the Venari will die.

Contessa L'Ament: -1 Ranged Attack

Venari Marksrat: Ranged with Martyr

Gargoya Devil: Ranged with Close Range

Xenith Archer: Ranged

Ravenhood Warden: Ranged with Protect

Weirding Warrior: Ranged with Shatter

Vampire: Ranged with Life Leach

I used six monsters and added five different abilities into the mix, trying to increase my odds in this battle. The Venari Marksrat will not be able to shoot, but will boost my Gargoya Devil through Martyr.

The Gargoya will become my tank, shooting from the first position due to the Close Range ability. The others will launch deadly arrows from behind, and enjoy the extra armor given by the Ravenhood Warden.

The opponent used the Soul Strangler to delay the damage on the Gargoya Devil, and let the Dhampir Stalker have more shots. However, the strategy gone wrong as the Soul Strangler was done in one blow by my Vampire.

The Vampire's health got increased by one, and he was sharpening the fangs for more bites. Unfortunatelly the Weirding Warrior missed his hit on the Gargoya Devil, and delayed the damage for another round.

The Venari Marksrat sacrificed himself for the greater good, and my Gargoya got hulked up! Plus one to all stats, and my stone archer gone high on steroids!

The Gargoya Devil is going the distance! The boosted monster went up to 4 armor, 3 health points, 3 ranged damage and 4 speed! The hulking monster took on his own bread, nuking the enemy gargoya in one shot!

Because a dhampir is just half vampire ... he's probably weaker than my vampire! He didn't had too much life left, as he was filled with arrows shortly.

What went well? The team had great synergy, and the Venari Marksrat Martyr made the difference. The plethora of different abilities created an overpowered army of shooters and this made the battle look easy. See the whole battle here!

The Henchling Enforcer is going the distance to gather taxes! The pay is good, and henchlings have a proclivity for celebrating their wages at local taverns.

The Enforcer starts with three health, two ranged damage, and the halving ablitity... not a bad mix for six mana. It gets deadly as it gets higher levels, gaining True Aim and Camouflage!  He also has dual-elements, Life and Water, for a wider choice when it comes to team selection!

I didn't had the chance to use him in the previous "Going the Distance" battle, so the Close-Range one gave me another opportunity! Prophet Rosa in charge of an army of sharpshoorters, and the Venari Marksrat as a wildcard! Legolas will be proud! The

Prophet Rosa: +2 Ranged Damage for 2 friendly units

Venari Marksrat: Decoy with Martyr

Drybone Raider: Melee/Ranged with Double-Strike

Rune Crafter: Ranged with Fury

Swamp Spitter: Ranged with Repair

Henchling Enforcer: Ranged with Halving

Nimbledook Ranger: Ranged with Double-Strike and Snipe

The set-up of this team was outstanding, as the synergy between units and abilities made me feel confident I would win against any opponent. No OP units, just a team that was built to destroy!

Prophet Rosa was used to boost two units with Double-Strike, as the Nimblebrook Ranger and the Drybone Raider will turn hulk-mode. The Drybone will triple boost, once the Venari Marksrat will die! DRYBONE SMAASHHH!

Fighting Brewmaster Abraxas would be a challenge, as his army had Queen Mycelia, Chimney Wallstop and Countes Sinash on the battlefield. Will I be able to stop the bloodlust before Chimney turns into a beast?

The Venary's Martyr pumped the Drybone, and he nearly single-handed the hippo overseer! The Nimbledook Ranger targeted the Lava Launcher, and the Swamp Spitter repaired the Drybone's armor. That armor repair was very important, keeping the Raider alive after a brutal attack from Chemney Wallstop.

Thorns damage hit back for every melee attack, and the beefy overseer was finally down. The Rune Crafter delivered the deadly blow, and I ended the round in style!

Countess Sinash is such a shady person, hitting the weak from the shadows! She got the tiny Nimbledook Ranger out of the battle, and waited for her next chance to make some damage!

The Drybone Raider sacrifice was worthy of memorable songs! Four attacks on a full health and armored Chimney... with the deadly melee blow hitting back with a lethal thorns damage! They both died... but glory awaits in Valhalla!

The Rune Caster took the tank mantle, as his armor was repaired with haste! The Lava Launcher is a formidable ranged unit, but not after was hit by the Henchling Enforcer. The 3 damage instantly turned into 1, and the construct wasn't that scary now!

Things were going well, as the enemies were dropping like flies. The Lava Launcher was obliterated, and Uraeus died from thrones damage!

The mighty Queen Mycelia and the elusive Countess Sinash were to only one left. It was time to settle the endgame! Mycelia paid her taxes, not by choice, and Sinash trial started after! See the full battle here!
