Quantum Updates - Q323

Quantum Startup takes aim at Google & IBM

Well I am a firm believer in competition and new ideas in the quantum space bring great potential. In fact, I don't look at Atlantic Quantum as a startup since they were spun out from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (AKA MIT). Atlantic Quantum recently announced a $1.25M contract with the US Air Force research Lab.

Google Claims 70-Qubit Quantum Supercomputer - July '23

This technology can accomplish as much computing in the blink of an eye that has taken place over the past 47-years. Yikes! Thus threatening render all current encryption technology useless

Google released first quantum-resilient FIDO2 key implementation

This technique uses a unique ECC/Dilithium hybrid signature schema co-created with ETH Zurich. FIDO2 is an important step on the journey to ensuring security in the Quantum age.  This is a massive undertaking knowing the power of Quantum computers

The below image shows you where the FIDO2 would fall in t terms of quantum resistant scheme.

A rather impressive set of announcements from Google to shore-up the current set of encryption standards and its great to see more competition enter the market by Atlantic Quantum.  Q323 did not bring as many announcements but those that were released are impressive; would you not agree?

Until next time stay frosty - get it? Its my first quantum joke. Sorry I will work on more.
