I'm an Engineer, not an Investor

Bitcoin had been tumbling for quite a while now, and most articles and comments are about Elon Musk.  Why?  Bitcoin was having a good go in the market when he bought into it.  Then there was the typical American hype.  You know, what the media does to every little story, making mountains out of molehills.

People started following musk as if he were an investing genius.  Even he, himself, has commented that he is not an investor. He is an engineer.  Nevertheless, since the media hyped it, people were buying into it.  Now we see the results of that ignorance.  Those that bought into the hype without understanding the true nature of bitcoin are jumping boats—a real Jack and Rose moment.  Remember the scene from Titanic, and Rose breaks Jack’s frozen hands to move forward and find help.  Jack, of course, sinks to the bottom.  Story of my love life.

However, this story isn’t about me—it’s about Elon Musk.  Wait, no, it isn’t.  I digress.

Instead of focusing on one individual at the center of this bitcoin rollercoaster ride, we should be focusing on Bitcoin.

I really think that those of us who got into cryptocurrency are smart enough to get past these media-hyped bumps and Bitcoin haters smirk “told ya so.”  We know that Bitcoin has advantages over traditional currency, and it has a collectible value.  We know that cryptocurrency is the future of money and we are ahead of the others even when the market tumbles.

Okay, so what do we do now?  First of all, take Elon Musk out of the equation.  He is just a regular guy, like Tony Stark, right?  If he wants to buy Bitcoin, that’s great.  Let him do what he wants.  But do not play into this trend of linking him and everything he does to Bitcoin.  He is not a professional investor.  If he were a professional investor, we would only secretly buy crypto, not talk about it.

Okay, I rambled enough about this.  Let me know what you think.  Of all the problems that Bitcoin faces getting mainstream, I think we can agree that one person’s opinion is not worth crashing the market.  Where’s Trump when we need him?  As always, I'm dying to hear what you think.

Never forget, Bitcoin is for the people.
