I have been reading about what Charles Hoskinson stated recently. He sent out a message suggesting that Dogecoin could become a sidechain on the Cardano blockchain.
I love this idea! I can imagine this helping both Cardano and Dogecoin. From what I understand, Cardano has been looking for a significant project to build on it's blockchain for awhile now. This would do the trick. Mr. Hoskinson apparently polled twitter users their thoughts, and from what I understand, over 80% of respondents were in favor of such a proposal happening. He also apparently offered to do the migration for free.

I really, really like Cardano, and as I have written earlier this week, I am not a big fan of Dogecoin because of it's literal joke status. Now, this merger/migration would be a great upgrade to the Dogecoin proof of work blockchain and allow it to be more useful, and may even make it easier to be a form of payment (on Twitter?) and other places. I have to decide if I think it is work the risk to invest in Dogecoin now, because if this merger, even if it is unlikely now, happens it will skyrocket each price in the long run. Something for me to ponder!
Also, from what I understand is that at this time both Dogecoin and Cardano have their own coin on their own blockchain. If the merger happens Cardano still has it's own blockchain and is it's own coin. Though, if Dogecoin becomes a sidechain on the Cardano blockchain, it becomes a token on the Cardano network. They apparently are calling it #QuantumDoge
What an intriguing possibility! I love this idea, even if it never occurs. Think of the possibilities. To me it shows the genius of Mr. Hoskinson and further cements in my mind he is someone who knows what he is doing.
