Heidi Klum has joined the NFT space by purchasing her CryptoPunks doppelganger. The model purchased Punk #3653 for 80 ETH, or about $260.000. With this purchase, Heidi Klum joins a long list of celebrities that have already made the jump into NFTs.
CryptoPunk #3653 has had quite the trading history, switching owners seven times. However, this is probably the first time the owner and the NFT bear such a striking resemblance. Heidi Klum is among the most recognized models globally. Her endorsement of the CryptoPunks project will most likely have a positive effect when it comes to activity for the collection.
Aside from her doppelganger purchase, Heidi Klum also owns the heidiklumofficial.eth ENS domain. This is a good indicator that the model will continue engaging with the crypto world. Particualrly the NFT space.
We don’t know any details about Klum’s motivation to jump into the NFT space. However, recently she made the song Chai Tea together with rapper Snoop Dogg. The American rapper is one of the most prolific celebrities in the NFT space. He is collecting expensive NFTs, launching his own music NFTs, and building in the metaverse.

Heidi Klum’s celebrity endorsement of the CryptoPunks V2 collection comes at an important time. In the past couple of weeks, CryptoPunks and Larva Labs have been at the forefront of NFT news as the CryptoPunks V1 collection was resurrected.
Larva Labs is taking legal action against the CryptoPunks V1 community and collection, however, the resurrected project has attracted a lot of attention. Even so, it looks like celebrities are more comfortable betting on the acclaimed CryptoPunks V2 collection.
Heidi Klum is not the only VIP to purchase a Punk. While many of Hollywood’s greatest chose to make their NFT debut with Bored Apes, Punks are among the most purchased avatars in celebrity wallets. Big names like Snoop Dogg, Jay Z, and Serena Williams all put their bet on the CryptoPunks collection as an entry point to the NFT space.
