Fidelity's Latest Report: Building on Bitcoin

Report found here: Fidelity Building on Bitcoin

Will take a look at the report right here using this blog post.

Shown below, early on Fidelity makes a great point about and some of the battles fought years ago to get us to this point.  Here is an article published previously that explains our take on Ether and the so called 'merge': The Submerge

Bitcoin is for all.  Ether is the target of co-opting attempts and the same old same old.  The main point is to truly operate as an independent player and operator with Ether, you need way, way more than the average American has in savings.  Disparity is worse across the globe.  BTC is for anyone and everyone

The SegWit battle was huge.  Without it, there would be no Lightning Network.  It's that simple.  It was a grueling battle with a lot of nefarious actors trying to divide and topple

In the below section Fidelity lays out how the Lightning Network can indeed process very high volume amounts of transactions at a very low costs compared to other options.  There is a need and a market for it.

The below depicts the evolution and growth of the Bitcoin Lightning Network over the last few years.  It's very clear that there is indeed growth in the capacity, transactions, and nodes, but there is also a need to get this project "over the hump" if you will.  What will be done to make it easier to provide more liquidity and run a node?

Good report by Fidelity and the firm has been committed to Bitcoin and the concept of building on Bitcoin.  As the industry moves forward and possibly beyond the regulatory battles and drama, participants may consider deciding on what to build.  Consider the chart below:

The Ethereum community repeatedly declared that The Merge would be the savior and enable Eth to dominate the universe.  The above chart suggests otherwise.  Should the industry and community focus on building on or Ethereum?  Only people can decide for themselves.
