Humanity Protocol, a groundbreaking identity verification solution leveraging privacy-oriented biometric palm recognition, has been unveiled by Human Institute. Developed in collaboration with Animoca Brands and Polygon Labs, this innovative protocol aims to revolutionize Web3 identity verification.

Less Invasive, More Inclusive

Humanity Protocol, launched on the Polygon CDK testnet, offers a less invasive alternative to traditional biometric verification methods like iris scans. Co-founded by Balazs Nemethi and Chung Yin, the protocol seeks to enhance equity and inclusion by prioritizing user-centric privacy.

An Inclusive Ecosystem

According to Yat Siu, the co-founder of Animoca Brands, Humanity Protocol's innovative approach to proof-of-personhood solutions ensures better user experiences and fosters a decentralized ecosystem built on true digital ownership principles. The protocol has already attracted 40,000 registered members within just three months of its launch.

Fortified Security with ZK-Proofs

Harnessing the power of zero-knowledge proofs (ZK-proofs) within the Polygon CDK, Humanity Protocol strengthens network security while integrating the proof-of-humanity (PoH) consensus mechanism for identity validation. ZK-proofs enable users to prove specific information without revealing sensitive data, ensuring enhanced privacy and confidentiality.

Enabling Mass Adoption of Web3

Nikita Uriupin, founder of Exverse, highlights the significance of privacy-preserving technologies like ZK-proofs in driving the mass adoption of Web3 solutions. With concerns over data breaches on the rise, the introduction of privacy-enhancing technologies could instill greater confidence in Web2-to-Web3 transitions.

Pioneering Data Ownership

Unlike traditional Web2 data management systems, Humanity Protocol empowers users with complete ownership of their data. Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon, envisions a future where this protocol unlocks a myriad of new use cases, laying the foundation for blockchain innovation and real-world applications.
