Art Blocks Steal The Spotlight, Decentraland Catching Up

An Art Blocks Fidenza NFT is leading the charge in this week’s top 10 NFT sales, battling an undeniable wave of Bored Apes. Still, the ranking is much more varied than previous weeks, as the hype surrounding the newly launched APE token subsides.

Another Art Blocks NFT, part of the Autoglyphs collection ranks 6th, pushing the generative art project to the 37th position in the Top NFT Collections ranking. In the past seven days, the two Art Blocks sales alone generated over $1.5 million in trading volume. This is close to half of the whole collection’s trading volume in the same period.

Another sale that stands out among the frequently observed Bored Apes and Crypto Punks is that of A11, a land plot in Decentraland. Interest in the virtual world is spiking following the start of the first-ever Metaverse Fashion Week. A11 switched owners for 220,000 MANA, or about $569,790. Nickclifton.eth, the new owner of the land plot, already has 12 other spaces in Decentraland, most of which are located in the Fashion District.

Art Blocks takes on Bored Apes

Breaking the pattern of Bored Ape dominance in the past couple of weeks is no easy feat. Yet, Art Blocks have managed to take the spotlight once again. As one of the most renowned generative art collections, the project has a long-standing history of top-grossing sales.

Despite a slowdown, Bored Apes are still occupying most spots in this week’s ranking. Half of the top 10 sales in the past seven days were of BAYC NFTs. The most expensive BAYC sale was of Bored Ape #4740, which switched owners for 200 WETH, or about $657,930. That’s quite the steep price hike even with the rising floor price, which now stands at 100 ETH, or about half this sale price.

Interestingly, CryptoPunks seems to be losing traction, even though BAYC creators Yuga Labs recently purchased the collection alongside Larva Labs’ other big project Meebits. This week’s list features only one Crypto Punk sale, that of Punk #7971, which switched owners for $733,450.
